Halo: The Flood

Halo: The Flood is novel retelling the events of what occurred in the first game of the Halo franchise. The story, world, and characters are all pretty good.

A year ago, I had a friend who was apparently a Halo novel fan, and he was reading what I believe to have been one titled Halo: Evolutions, which is a compilation of short stories written by various authors, and being a decent sized fan of the game series, I was interested. I heard that all the Halo books were good, so I wanted to read it since than. By chance, I happened to come between them at a book store, so I bought all the available ones with a gift card I got from my birthday. As expected, it was a pretty good book.

44th movie I've seen.

Ju-on

Ju-on is a book that's a complete novelization of the movies by the same name. I thought the writing was very good; though there seemed to be at least one typo. On paper, the story isn't scary so much as mysterious and sad. Overall, it was a good book.

I happened upon the book not long after my 18th birthday in a bookstore in which I had a gift card for. Having seen Ju-on: The Grudge, which is the American version/expansion of the series, I immediately recognized the name. I was excited! So, anyway, while out of my home state, I decided that I'd read it, and I quickly found it hard to put down. I sincerely got stuck in the world! Just 4 days after starting it, I finished it. As of now, this is the book I've finished in the quickest amount of time while willing reading it (I once finished a book in about 6 hours, but I didn't really want to read it for that long).

43rd book I've read.

Shadow's Edge

Shadow's Edge continues The Night Angel trilogy as the second book in the series. Just like the previous book (The Way of Shadows), the writing was great, and the atmosphere felt good, but rather dark.

For some reason, I might have liked this one a bit more than the previous book. You really get to experience and see a lot of changes in the characters. Unfortunately, I don't really have much more to say about this book, as I recently finished it. All that I can say for sure is that it continued an already good story, and improved it further through ways and reasons that should be obvious.

42nd book I've read.

The Way of Shadows

The Way of Shadows is the beginning of The Night Angel trilogy. The series follows a wetboy; that is,an assassin with the ability to use magic. Overall, it's a good book.

So, one day I got this book in the form of an omnibus volume in Indiana on Purdue's college campus, and I do not regret it in the slightest. It didn't take too long for me to really enjoy this while I was away during vacation. The language was harsher than what I usually read from a novel, and it tackled quite a few different things that are hardly touched in all the books I've read. It may have got slow at parts, but it kept me wanting to read more a majority of the time. The only reason I didn't want to read more was because I felt like doing something else or because I was tired.

41st book I've read.

The Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid

he Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid is the first of three books in The Kane Chronicles series. It's written by ones of my favorite authors, Rick Riordan, who wrote the Percy Jackson series.

It was a good book and I would gladly read the sequels. However, I really don't think I'm going to read them any time soon as I have to find the books and because I have a lot of other books to read.

I would recommend it to anyway who is interested in mythology, specifically Egyptian mythology. I would also recommend it to those who liked the Percy Jackson series.

40th book I've read.

Throne of Glass

Throne of Glass is about a girl who was once an infamous assassin. She got captured by the empire and was thrown into a death camp, where she spent two years in. After these years, the Crown Prince came to the camp to pick her up for a championship that would bring her to freedom.

Overall it's a pretty good book. The end widely implies that there is to be a sequel (which will be released Fall 2013 under the title of Crown of Midnight). There are four prequels to the book.

39th book I've read.

Beyonders: A World Without Heroes

Beyonders: A World Without Heroes is one of two books that I've read this year that were absolutely amazing. Both books happened to be part of new series in which we only have the first book of. I'd love to read the trilogy as a whole.

I suggest the book to anyone who wants to experience a unique fantasy world in which has a few laughs here and there.

38th book I've read.
